Blast at the Provincial's office in Lomé

A small blast distracted Joseph Kallanchira from his work at the provincial's office this morning: a series of floor tiles suddenly surged up from inside and cracked open the concrete floor down under. In fact, pressure was building up since a few weeks already in that area of the middle of the office space, and you could feel the thing coming up anytime sooner under your feet as you walked over by there; and finally it happened! In the accompanying photos, the provincial treasurer Fr Wladek Dybas is seen at work, removing the tiles and cleaning up the mess. A passing confrere quipped: "A self-sufficiency project even in the provincial's office?!"
